Longwave Infrared (LWIR) lens is generally used to build thermal imaging system with infrared detector. It works on 8-12um spectrum, and typically fits uncooled detector. It allows the user to see objects from their own infrared radiation, without additional light source, which makes them particularly valuable in certain environments and applications.
While infrared systems are often used in complex environment conditions and not easy to be reached. The need to maintain focus over a wide range of environmental temperatures is essential to system performance, stability, and high quality. Infrared lens with athermal design would keep its performance from changing by means of optical passivity, mechanical activity, and mechanical passivity in a large temperature range. Its configuration will auto-adjust itself during temperature change.
Our LWIR athermal infrared lens is specially designed to provide shape image in a large temperature range. Focal length 3.85-110 mm, F#1.0-1.3, fits for 17um and 12um infrared detector. They can be used in many thermal imaging applications such as monitoring, thermal goggles and scopes, thermographs, spectrum analysis and so on.
