MWIR infrared lens fixed focus

Because of the atmospheric absorption, only in certain region of the infrared spectrum, light can go through the air and be used in infrared applications. The infrared light in the 3µm to 5µm spectral region, so called Mid-wave Infrared (MWIR), is one of them. The MWIR infrared lens is used to build thermal imaging system with 3-5um detector. Cooled 3-5um detector is more common in MWIR spectrum compared to uncooled detector. It is more sensitive to incoming infrared radiation, thus can be worked with infrared lens with smaller entrance pupil.
